IPL 2017: Twitter Reacts As Kings XI Punjab Squander A Good Start

Umesh Yadav took three wickets in the 18th over as Kolkata Knight Riders bounced back from a poor start to restrict Kings XI Punjab to 170 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs.

After being invited to bat first, the visitors went off to a flying start with Manan Vohra and Hashim Amla adding 53 runs in only 5 overs. Vohra was looking more dangerous and had raced to 28 off only 19 balls with the help of 4 overs and a maximum before being bowled by Piyush Chawla. KXIP then sprung a big surprise by sending Marcus Stoinis at number three but the move did not pay off as the hard-hitting batsman departed after scoring only 9. Stoinis’ dismissal did not create too much pressure on the batting team as Glenn Maxwell batted freely and scored 25 off just 14 deliveries before edging an Umesh Yadav delivery straight to the wicketkeeper. David Miller and Wriddhiman Saha then took charge of the innings and had added 72 runs in only 32 balls before Umesh Yadav dismissed both the batsmen in consecutive deliveries. Glenn Maxwell’s men could not recover from those setbacks and failed to end the innings in a way they would have wanted after getting off to such a good start.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the innings:
