IPL 2017-Video: Amit Mishra Prevents Himself Through Wrist Intrusion 1

The main reason for Delhi Daredevils losing this game was the leg-spinner Amit Mishra, not for leaking 32 runs in two overs but for consuming 14 deliveries for just eight runs, at a time when Delhi Daredevils needed someone to just smash the ball to minimise the difference between the total of two sides.

Amit Mishra was seen just hitting the air instead of the ball and on one of the occasions, he found himself in an uncomfortable position when the ball bounced off and he had to prevent himself by placing his wrist in front of the ball. He failed to judge the bounce of the delivery and could not raise his bat to ball’s height.

Mishra was in utter confusion as the ball was coming towards him at a good pace and when he found no way out of it, he just raised his wrist to prevent an impact and stopped the ball. Opposition captain Shane Waston was not at all happy with this as using hand and touching the ball is not legal in the game but there was no such appeal made.

Other players too did not make much effort to go for appeal as Mishra was wasting deliveries, which finally wrote a script to loss of Delhi Daredevils as the visitors fell short by a margin of 15 runs at the end of the day.

Kedar Jadhav was the star of RCB wit the bat as he played an innings of 69 in just 37 deliveries at a strike rate of 186.48. He was given a strong competition by Rishabh Pant who scored 57 off 36 deliveries but failed to get the support of his peers and in the end, Delhi Daredevils lost the game by a margin of 15 runs.
