IPL 2017 Video: Billy Stanlake Cleans Up Karun Nair
IPL debutant Billy Stanlake cleaned up Delhi Daredevils batsman Karun Nair with a beauty as the delivery went onto castle batsman’s stumps. It was the third delivery of the sixth over from RCB bowler Billy Stanlake which was pitched on the off stump. A reluctant and slow Nair played the wrong line and was hoping that the ball will come in. On the other hand, it kept straight, rather more on off-stump and Nair missed it completely before the ball went onto touch the timber.
It was the second and a big blow for Delhi as they are chasing a target of 158 which is a bit low but a tricky one as we have seen that a batting line up often crumbles in a chase to a short target.
The visitors lost the first wicket in form of Aditya Tare at 18, who made his IPL debut for the franchise. Karun Nair and Sam Billings followed him leaving Delhi in trouble as Delhi was three down at a score of 55, still, 103 runs behind the winning total.
Royal Challengers wouldn’t have reached this total if Kedar Jadhav wouldn’t have played an innings of 69 off 37 deliveries. His innings did not just help CB to put a good total but also helped the team to put a competitive total on the board. The impact of his innings can be known by the fact that after his dismissal, RCB batsmen could just score 15 runs in the last three overs of the game, which might cost them later. At the time of writing the report, Delhi Daredevils was three down for at a score of 79 at the end of 10 overs.
