Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir rarely shies away from letting his emotions get the better of him during matches. A fierce competitor on the field, the India opener is known for letting his bat talk as well as his mouth and the latest incident during the ongoing match against Delhi Daredevils surely proves it.
After Delhi openers- Sanju Samson and Sam Billings had put the hosts on the front-foot with a brilliant 36-ball 53 run partnership, the Kolkata bowlers had clawed their way back into the match with some disciplined bowling of the highest quality. By the end of the 16th over, the home team was reeling at 119 for 4 and were finding it tough to get to a good total before Rishabh Pant decided to take on Umesh Yadav in the 17th over. The highly-rated youngster missed the first ball but what followed thereafter stunned one and all. On the second ball of the over, he hit a low full toss for a huge six over long on. The next ball was hit for a four followed by two sixes and a four as the southpaw collected 26 runs from the over.
The momentum was with Pant and Delhi and the visiting team was looking desperate to see the back of the Delhi youngster. Well, fortunately, Pant could not inflict much damage on them as he hit a low full toss from Nathan Coulter-Nile straight to Gautam Gambhir at the backward point. And Gambhir did not stop himself from showing how much the wicket meant to him as he was seen venting his frustrating with some choicest of words.
