IPL 2017: Watch: Gautam Gambhir Completes Catch On Fourth Attempt 1

Virender Sehwag’s reaction said it all after Varun Aaron’s skier was caught by Gautam Gambhir on the last delivery of Kings XI Punjab’s bowling.

At 155 for four in the 18th over with David Miller and Wriddiman Saha looking in red-hot form, the visitors were looking well set to post above 180.

However, their charge was halted by Umesh Yadav. The in-form India pacer derailed KXIP’s innings by dismissing Miller, Saha and Axar Patel in the space of four balls. With their innings in disarray and with just a few balls remaining, the KXIP tail-enders tried to throw their bats at almost every delivery and Varun Aaron was no different.

On the final delivery of the innings, the fast-bowler went for a wild heave but failed to time the ball. As a result, the ball did not cover the distance but went up in the sky towards extra cover.

It was looking like a regulation catch at that level but Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir was looking destined to drop it before grabbing it on the fourth attempt.

He got himself under the ball at the right time but the ball popped out of his hand on the first and second attempt. The KKR batsman then lobbed the ball up before catching it on the fourth attempt.

Here is a clip of that wicket:
