IPL 2017: Watch: Kedar Jadhav's Carelessness Culminates In Comical Run-Out 1

44 for 2 with Travis Head and AB de Villiers already back in the hut while chasing 157, a run out was the last thing that Royal Challengers Bangalore would have wanted at this precarious position in the ongoing match against Rising Pune Supergiant. Moreover, what added more salts to their wounds is the fact that they lost their in-form batsman Kedar Jadhav due to the run out which can be best described as comical.

The incident occurred in the eighth over bowled by debutant Lockie Ferguson. The delivery began with Kedar Jadhav cutting ferociously to the left of the backward point fielder. The ball was looking set to pass the fielder but he somehow managed to get his hand to the ball and stopped it. In the meanwhile, Virat Kohli tried to take advantage of the fielder’s half-stop by taking a single only to see Jadhav sending him back. On the other hand, the fielder saw Kohli’s intention and fired a throw down to the non-striker’s end. However, the bowler failed to collect it cleanly and the ball rolled away a few metres away from him, prompting Jadhav to go for a single.

Consequently, Jadhav set off for the single straightaway. Kohli also started for the run but immediately showed his hands to his partner to stay in his crease. However, Jadhav did not look at Kohli and when the Royal Challengers skipper turned back, he saw Jadhav standing near the non-striker’s crease. By that time, the ball was in bowler’s hand who immediately threw it in MS Dhoni’s safe gloves who made no mistake in taking the bails off.
