Kedar Jadhav’s woeful display behind the stumps is only making Royal Challengers Bangalore miss the services of KL Rahul even more. Jadhav was given the wicketkeeping responsibilities after KL Rahul was ruled out of the entire tournament with a shoulder injury. However, Jadhav’s performance behind the stumps have been anything but impressive and his performance in the ongoing match against Kings XI Punjab has brutally exposed his weaknesses.
He had already missed a sitter to stump Wriddhiman Saha out in the tenth over of the innings when the Kings XI Punjab batsman found himself well out of the crease after being beaten by a Yuzvendra Chahal delivery as he danced down the wicket. However, Jadhav made a meal of the easy chance. And just a few overs later, he faced more embarrassment after yet another pathetic attempt behind the stumps. Well, this time, his mistake did not cost his team any wicket but they had to concede four needless runs.
The incident had happened in the fourteenth over of the innings when Kings XI Punjab skipper Glenn Maxwell tried to hit Chahal for a big shot by making some room for himself. But in doing so, he too failed to make any contact with the ball. But to everybody’s utter surprise, Jadhav did not even attempt to catch the ball, allowing it to cross the boundary rope. In the meantime, Chahal as well Maxwell burst into laughter to see another dreadful piece of wicketkeeping from Jadhav.
Enjoy the hilarious reaction of Chahal and Maxwell:
