IPL 2017: Watch – Manoj Tiwary Completes Two Runs With A Broken Bat
You might have seen a lot of drama and funny incidents in the past seasons of the Indian Premier League but the latest incident that occurred during the ongoing match between Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiant is bound to top them all as Manoj Tiwary had to complete a run with only the handle and a little part of the remaining willow after his bat broke into two pieces.
The incident occurred in the penultimate over of Pune’s innings when Tiwary tried to squeeze out a yorker from Praveen Kumar. However, Tiwary’s bat couldn’t take the strain and broke clean in half. But the real drama was yet to come. Since only few balls were left, the batsmen were looking to collect as many runs as possible and they were not even bothering about the broken bat.
Even though the bat broke from the middle, Tiwary managed to place his shot between long-on and deep mid-wicket before setting off for a couple of runs. He had to make a dive for completing the second as he knew he could have been in trouble otherwise.
