After roaring back to form with a stunning match-winning knock of 61* runs off only 34 balls in the previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, former Rising Pune Supergiant skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni failed to continue his good form in the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
The right-handed batsman came to the crease when Rahul Tripathi was dismissed by Karn Sharma in the 12th over.
Pune were 93 for two when Dhoni came to bat but the former India skipper found himself under immense pressure soon, as Steve Smith and Ben Stokes departed without contributing much with the bat.
The onus was on him to guide the team to a good total once again but the hopes were quashed when he dragged an inside edge onto his stumps in the 18th over which was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah.
The right-arm pacer bowled a length ball outside the off stump and deserved to be hit but Dhoni only managed to drag it onto his stumps. The 35-year old batsman managed to score just seven runs from 11 balls.
Here is a clip of the dismissal:
