Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner Samuel Badree once again proved his worth when Virat Kohli handed him the ball at a tough time. The West Indian had put his team in a dominating position during the last match when his figures of 4 for 9 including a hat-trick had reduced Mumbai Indians to 33 for 5 before the two-time IPL champions ran away with all the two points.
The leg-spinner made his mark once again when the runners-up of last year were in dire need of a breakthrough in the ongoing match against Rising Pune Supergiant. Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi came out all guns blazing when Virat Kohli invited the visitors to bat first. Both the batsmen were looking hell-bent to prove Kohli’s decision wrong and had added 55 runs in the powerplay. With no ploy working against them Kohli threw the ball to Badree who had bowled the first over of the innings and the move paid dividends straightaway as the spinner accounted for the dangerous-looking Rahane on the fourth ball of his second spell.
The Rising Pune Supergiant opener stepped out to play the delivery but could not pick up the googly as the ball went on to disturb his timbers.
