IPL 2017: Watch: Siddarth Kaul Ends Rohit Sharma’s Fine Knock With A Slower Delivery
With his team in a spot of bother in the ongoing match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front, scoring 67 balls from just 45 balls to pull his team out of the trouble.
The India opener had arrived on the crease when his team was reeling at 22 for two in the fifth over with both in-form batsmen- Lendl Simmons and Nitish Rana back in the hut.
14 runs later, Parthiv Patel was dismissed too but Rohit held firm from the other end and shared a 60-run partnership with Hardik Pandya to steady the ship. The right-handed batsman mixed caution with aggression to keep the scoreboard ticking.
However, just when he was trying to break the shackles in the slog overs, he was cleaned bowled by Siddarth Kaul on the first ball of the penultimate over.
Kaul had bowled a short delivery outside the off, a delivery which would tempt any batsman to go the for the big shot. However, the Sunrisers pacer cleverly took the pace off the ball and when Rohit tried to pull it, he could only manage it to chop it onto his stumps. Disappointed with the shot, he stood on the crease for a while before leaving the ground.
Here is a clip of Rohit Sharma’s dismissal:
