Steven Smith’s woes with the bat continued in the Indian Premier League, as the Rising Pune Supergiant skipper was dismissed for only 17 in the ongoing match against Mumbai Indians.
What will hurt the Australian batsman, even more, is the fact that he was dropped by Harbhajan Singh in the previous over when he was batting on eight. However, he could not capitalise on the reprieve and was sent back to the pavilion in the very next over by Harbhajan Singh.
The veteran off-spinner bowled a short delivery but cleverly took some pace off the ball. As expected, Smith went for the pull but went for it a little bit early and paid the price for it, as the ball went on to hit the top of the off-stump. The Punjab ace was totally pumped up after making amends for dropping the rival skipper in the previous over and vented his frustration by shouting and roaring at the top of his voice.
Meanwhile, the spinner has now become the 19th bowler and third Indian to take 200 wickets in the shortest format of the game after dismissing the Australia skipper.
