Dec 22, 2018 at 5:16 PM
The clash of the kings, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli took place at the Bengaluru, as hosts RCB were handed a defeat by five wickets by CSK, repeating the heroics of 2012, where they won requiring the same target.
It was AB de Villiers show in the first innings while the second outing belonged CSK’s Thala MS Dhoni. Here is a look at the five game-changing moments.
RCB ‘De’ factor
The two De’s of South Africa, AB de Villiers (68) and Quinton de Kock (53), were dominating CSK with their strokeplay.
Both of them clinched up their half centuries and also brought up a 100-run stand for the second wicket.
Mandeep-Sundar shine again
After setting a wonderful platform by the South African duo, RCB lost a bit of a momentum with the regular fall of wickets.
Mandeep scored a breezy knock of 34 in just 17 balls while Sundar provided the finishing blows for 13 which came off just four deliveries. Thanks to the two knocks, RCB reached a total of 205.
Chahal’s spin web at home
Chahal caused CSK a couple of expensive blows by the wickets of Billings and Jadeja. Yet he showed one and all who the boss is Chinnaswamy.
Unfortunately, Chahal has to deal with the out of sorts bowling lineup of the RCB, featuring ordinary bowlers such as Anderson and Siraj
Ambati Rayudu’s successive gems
This is now the second time in a row that Rayudu scored a gem of a knock. The Mumbai Indians reject, now putting the yellows of CSK, scored an amazing 82 off 53 balls, with three fours and a whopping eight hits over the fence.
Yet again he was promoted up the order and back to his favourite position, where he impressed yet again with his mad hitting skills.
MS Dhoni plays a Thala special
The Thala of Chennai, MS Dhoni, played perhaps one of the best knocks of his T20 career where he looked determined to dominate and state why exactly he loves scoring against RCB.
Dhoni scored at an explosive 70 off 34 balls to win the man of the match award for chasing down the required target along with some assistance from Bravo.
He also reserved his very best for the last as hit a maximum of the final delivery to seal the match for his side.
