Chris Gayle- Kings XI Punjab

The big man from Jamaica was bought at a base price of just Rs 2 crores by the Kings XI Punjab.
Gayle remained unsold for the first two legs of the auction. However, when Gayle’s name came up for the 3rd time, KXIP bid for him and fortunately bought him. No other franchise had bid for him which worked in favour of Punjab.
The swashbuckling southpaw wasn’t part of the playing XI for the first few matches.
However, when he made his debut for Punjab, the southpaw was at his sublime best. He smashed a century in his very 2nd match. The big man also played a match-winning knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
His form has faded a bit, as the tournament has progressed. He has shown his capabilities and is expected to garner a bigger price in the next auction given if he keeps playing considering his age.
Deepak Chahar-Chennai Super Kings

The medium-fast bowler performed quite impressively for the Chennai Super Kings before an injury halted his terrific campaign.
The medium pacer played seven matches for the two-time champions before being sidelined for a couple of weeks owing to an injury. During his time for the Chennai, Chahar bagged seven wickets and provided Chennai with initial breakthroughs.
His best bowling spell in the tournament came against the Surnisers Hyderabad. He ended up bagging three wickets for not many which included the prized scalps of Williamson and Dhawan. He is expected to be back for Chennai’s games in the flag end of the tournament.
If he does return, Shardul Thakur will have to sit out. Chahar walks into the team given his current form. If he can maintain his form, Deepak might get a much higher price in the next auction.
