Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kept their playoff hopes alive after they outclassed Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) at Holkar Stadium in Indore, and eventually won the match convincingly by 10 wickets.
RCB under the dynamic leadership of Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first. What followed was a nightmare for the Punjab batsmen as the Royal Challengers’ bowlers went through the famed KXIP batting line-up.
KXIP began well and were 36 for no loss, but the fortunes turned around soon and they were bowled out for a paltry 88 runs in only 15.1 overs.
In reply, Kohli led from the front as he remained unbeaten on 48, while Parthiv Patel remained not out on 40 as they helped their team reach the total in just 8.1 overs.
For the Bangalore-based outfit, Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets giving away 23 runs in his four overs. These figures were exactly the same which he achieved during the previous encounter.

RCB now have 10 points from 12 games, while Kings have 12 points in as many matches. Both the teams have two more matches remaining.
However, RCB fans must be thinking that the team’s recent revival has come a little late as their chances of qualifications are very less.
On the other star batsman, AB De Villiers was over the moon after the thumping victory over the Kings XI. De Villiers expressed his joy on his official app, AB-17 as he wrote,
“What A Game! What a win this evening against the KXIP, special shoutout to the RCB bowlers on an incredible opening innings! Looking forward to our next game back home at the Chinnaswamy!”
