Former Mumbai batsman, Abhishek Nayar, has been appointed as the mentor for the youngsters in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp.
Moreover, Knight Riders’ CEO, Venky Mysore, took to Twitter – to confirm the latest addition to their support staff.
Subsequently, Nayar also responded by stating his excitement to join the Knight Riders.
The newly-appointed skipper of a Kolkata-based outfit, Dinesh Karthik may have been responsible for the late addition to their support staff.

The wicketkeeper-batsman Karthik had been vocal about the role Nayar played in his revival of International career, especially after the special knock he played in Colombo, in March.
“He (Abhishek Nayar) has been the most important factor in the last two and half years in my career. He has helped me prepare for games,” Dinesh Karthik told NDTV.
“Also, he made me think in terms of strategy. He also knows what is the right way to work hard. He has been the river, and I have been the boat,” said the man after scoring an 8-ball 29.
India won the final against Bangladesh and also clinched the Nidahas Trophy 2018 (Tri-series T20I tournament) due to Karthik’s splendid efforts.

“Pleased to welcome @abhisheknayar1 to the KKR support staff. The younger talent of the team will particularly benefit from Nayar’s experience & mentoring #KKRHaiTaiyaar @KKRiders,” tweeted Venky Mysore.
