ToggleKiwi speedster, Adam Milne, seems excited to join the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) squad, as a replacement for Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who pulled out of this ongoing eleventh season due to a back problem.
The bowler renowned to clock 150-plus consistently has aimed high – to help Mumbai Indians win a few games in the cash-rich league.
Similarly, Rohit Sharma-led side would dearly want this spirit from the paceman as they lost their opening three games of the season – to languish at the bottom of the IPL 2018 points table.
“When you come into a team, your goal is to help that team win games. Mumbai Indians have got a great set-up here and it shows why they’ve done well in the Vivo IPL. They’re the only team to win three Vivo IPL titles, I think the No. 1 goal is to try and do anything I can to help the team win games,” Adam Milne told Mumbai Indians official website.
During the extensive interaction, Milne revealed about the role of MI’s bowling coach Shane Bond, in regards to his development as a bowler.
Milne and Bond have worked together previously for the Southern Districts. Therefore, knowing Bond, Milne claims that the former New Zealand express bowler has a brilliant cricketing mind who is also efficient in the technical aspects of the game.
“Shane’s had a lot of influence on my bowling. He has had a lot of influence on how I bowl as well as my growth and development as a bowler. He has a great cricket mind also great with the technical side of things as well,” added the 26-year old.

Milne appeals to MI supporters to keep backing their team:
This is not the first Milne travelled to India for the IPL. In the previous edition of IPL, Milne was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) campaign. Hosts Indians are set to face RCB next in the competition on April 17.
In the end, Adam Milne appealed to the ardent Mumbai fans to keep supporting the defending champions of the tournament.
“Just stay strong. And keep coming out here and supporting us. The team is doing some really good work in training and we’re looking forward to getting back out there and get on a roll and get some wins and get into this competition and take it deep and hopefully, get into the finals. And once we’re into those, the boys have got a good experience of bringing the trophy home,” concluded Adam Milne.
