Adam Milne, the New Zealand pacer, has reportedly been roped in by Mumbai Indians as a replacement for injured Pat Cummins. Milne has played 70 T20s till now is which he has scalped 83 wickets.
Talking of his IPL career, he has been part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past.
He had played five games for the franchise in which he had scalped four wickets, going for an economy rate of 9.83.
Milne, who bowls as fast as Cummins, will be a like-to-like replacement for the pacer. He also bowls quick and will add to the pace battery of Mumbai Indians.
Milne went unsold in the IPL auction, as he found no buyers at his base price of Rs 75 Lakh.
Earlier, Cummins got ruled out of IPL due to a back issue He will sit out for few months and might be ruled out of Australia’s tour of England as well. He was purchased by the franchise for a huge amount of Rs 5.40 Crore. Cummins was the second pacer to be ruled out of Mumbai Indians squad.
Before him, Jason Behrendorff was ruled out and was replaced by Mitchell McClenaghan.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have received a boost, as Hardik Pandya has been declared fit to participate in team’s next tie.
He missed Mumbai Indians’ previous contest due to an ankle issue. Pandya is expected to replace Pradeep Sangwan in the playing XI.
Mumbai Indians will face Delhi Daredevils in their next tie tomorrow (April 14).
The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The Rohit Sharma-led side had lost both the games it had played till now. The three-time IPL champion team will be looking to post its first victory of the season while playing on home ground.
