Mayank Markande was the highest wicket-taker among the uncapped players in the tournament. The 20-year-old leggie made an immediate impact in his debut match against the Super Kings. He bamboozled MS Dhoni with a brilliant googly to announce his arrival in the competition.

Even in the second match, he finished with figures of four for 23 which remains his best spell in the competition. However, his tally of wickets went down considerably as the tournament progressed.

So much so, it was an achievement in his part to bamboozle a batsman like Dhoni. Markande is expected to garner a much price in the next audition.

However given his performance this year, Mumbai might be tempted to retain him. He finished with 15 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 24.53 and an economy rate of 8.36.
