IPL 2018: Can Chennai Lions roar at Kolkata’s E’den’?

A battle of quality tonight. The flamboyant Chennai Super Kings packed their kits to travel Kolkata in order to take down their Knight Riders. The in-form Chennai players would love to express themselves at a historic venue where the sporting wicket will be at the stake to use. Meanwhile, Kolkata who is fresh from thumping Royal Challengers is eyeing to take the revenge on Chennai Super Kings for the loss at Cheppauk.

It was a nightmare for Kolkata Knight Riders’ fans when Vinay Kumar produced a poor quality of bowling in the final over to hand over the crucial 2 points at Cheppauk. However, both the team have gone a long way in the tourney by producing some quality cricket. All in all, a thriller is in making tonight.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Bowlers need to step up for the party:

Kolkata Knight Riders started the season with a name of having a quality bowling attack. Especially, with Starc, Johnson, Kuldeep, Narine in their ranks, one would have expected them to burn the stage. But, unfortunately, Starc was ruled out. The other two Johnson and Kuldeep are finding it hard to pick up the right lengths thus leaving all the responsibility on the calm West Indian.

Coming to batting department, they got a positive in the form of Sunil Narine who can either be a hit or miss. A miss wouldn’t make any difference while the hit will give them a golden opportunity to seize the momentum. However, Robin Uthappa‘s inconsistent run is a cause of worry while they didn’t spill beans over Nitish Rana‘s availability.

The skipper, Dinesh Karthik seems to found his touch back while Andre Russell looks quite formidable. Shubman Gill is being wasted down the order but as per the combinations, it is the only place available for him. The youngster also understands the role and bringing in his hitting capabilities to the floor. Apart from Rana’s injury, KKR is all ready to take on CSK at home.

Chennai Super Kings – The Lions aren’t resting at all:

MS Dhoni and Co are playing a completely new level of cricket with tonnes’ of a positive attitude. They are walking into the field in a great shape and making their impact right from the word go. However, they too got their flaws which need a quick correction. The bowling department has been wayward which became a major concern for the team.

Even Dwayne Bravo was taken to cleaners in the previous encounter. However, they got a new kid in their ranks in the form of Lungi Ngidi who seems like having the nerves to throw in the death overs of the game.

Making an eye on the batting, they are enjoying the rich form of Ambati Rayudu, Watson and the care-taker MS Dhoni. All of them are smashing it brutally and got the luxury of Dwayne Bravo and Suresh Raina who can hit them out right from the first ball. Ravindra Jadeja too got back to his own in the previous encounter. So, CSK is also all set to take on Knight Riders.

Possible Playing XI:

KKR – Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana/Rinku Singh, Dinesh Karthik (C & WK), Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi, Piyush Chawla, Mitchell Johnson, Kuldeep Yadav.

CSK: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C & WK), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Karn Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Lungi Ngidi, KM Asif
