Delhi Daredevils’ buy this summer, Australian domestic giant Daniel Christian, opened up on playing alongside legends of world cricket, MS Dhoni, and Gautam Gambhir.
Christian represented the Rising Pune Supergiant last year in the IPL. The out of favour Australian could not help the Steve Smith-led side across the finishing line while facing the last ball of the tournament.
Part of the BBL winning squad for the Hobart Hurricanes previously represented RCB and the Deccan Chargers, before enjoying his second stint at Daredevils’ camp.
“It was nice playing with MS Dhoni in the Rising Pune Supergiant. I have played against Gambhir in the past in international cricket and even in the Indian Premier League, it’s nice to be playing with two legends of the game,” Daniel Christian stated while talking to Sportskeeda.
Christan also is looking forward to making a comeback using his performances in the IPL. The 34-year old last represented Australia at Ranchi against India last year.
“I would love to get back into the Australian team. If I do well in the IPL, you never know,” Daniel Christian added.
“Every time I play I try to do as well as I can,” replied the Aussie when asked if he is looking at the IPL as a platform to get back to international cricket.
The absence of Glenn Maxwell in Daredevils’ opening match against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali, might give the nod ahead to Christian.
Maxwell would join the Delhi team after attending Aaron Finch’s marriage. The latter also missed out on the opening match against Delhi.
Delhi Daredevils received a major blow earlier this week. Kagiso Rabada was ruled out of IPL with a back stress reaction. The Gautam Gambhir-led side replaced Rabada with the services of Liam Plunkett.
