IPL 2018: Dwayne Bravo is a Champion, Says Virender Sehwag

Chennai Super Kings could not have asked for a better game to mark their return to the Indian Premier League.

Beating defending champions in their backyard pretty much shows that the returning giants are desperate to make amends for their two-year absence.

The two-time IPL champions beat Mumbai Indians by one wicket in an absolute thriller at the Wankhede to start their season with a bang. At one stage, it looked all over for Super Kings before Dwayne Bravo showed his magic.

Chasing 166, the Super Kings were reeling at 75 for five. What was, even more, worrying the likes of Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni were back in the hut. The Super Kings kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 118 for eight.

However, what followed thereafter stunned a jam-packed Wankhede. The West Indies star launched a stunning assault to break Mumbai’s hearts. In the 18th over, he hit 19 runs off Mitchell McClenaghan. In the following over, he hit Jasprit Bumrah for three sixes. He was finally dismissed on the last ball of the 19th over after scoring 68 off just 30.

The game was not done yet, as Super Kings needed seven off the last over with one wicket in hand. The tension broke the roof when Kedar Jadhav could not score off the first three balls.

However, he hit the next two balls for a six and a four to seal a memorable win for his side.

It was the best possible start to the season, and the fans are finding it tough to contain their excitement. Well, Virender Sehwag is also one of those, as he took to Twitter to hail Bravo and the game.

“Bravo is a champion. What a great great start to the IPL,” he tweeted.
