India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya injured himself during the first game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Dhoni won the toss and put Mumbai to bat first. They posted 165 runs on the board after a late cameo from Krunal Pandya (41* off 22). Ishan Kishan (40) and Surya Kumar Yadav (43) also provided support.

However, in the last over Mumbai’s innings, Hardik Pandya twisted his ankle while pushing for a second run.

Pandya was on his skates running the first run, and just when he was about to turn back for the second, he dived awkwardly into Bravo and jammed his ankle while doing so.

He remained on the ground for quite a while before physio came running to carry him out of the field.

However, he did come back and bowled brilliantly for the defending champions. The all-rounder struck thrice, as he returned with three for 25 in his four overs.

But it was not enough, as Dwayne Bravo’s late night show sealed the game for CSK.

Meanwhile, after the match, a special person came to heel Pandya’s injury. The all-rounder took to an Instagram story to show that his elder brother, Krunal is taking good care of him.

Moreover, he returned to claim three crucial wickets, however, failed to prevent his team’s loss.
