IPL 2018: England Test Players to Have an Early Exit, Asked to Report by May 17 for Pakistan Tests
Ben Stokes along with Moeen Ali could be the players to leave the IPL in the later stages t fulfill international commitment.

England Test players who are part of the IPL will have to return to England before May 17, ECB confirmed a few days back.

England is set to face Pakistan in two-match Test series starting from May 24, and the players who are in India will be going back more than a week before to prepare for the series.

Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran, Liam Plunkett and Chris Woakes are a few of the England players playing in India. Stokes is an automatic selection in the Test side and will leave Rajasthan Royals’ camp before May 17.

The franchise will miss his services in the second round of the tournament – if they qualify for it. Last year, Rising Pune Supergiant missed his services in the final, as he had to return to England to fulfil international commitments. The selection of Moeen Ali in England Test squad is dicey though.

He was dropped from the playing XI for the second Test against New Zealand, which was the first time when he got dropped from the playing XI.

Still, he might leave India early. Chris Woakes also got dropped from the playing XI for the second New Zealand Test.

Though, he might also have an early exit, as both of them can always be called in for the second Test.

Tom Curran replaced Mitchell Starc in KKR

Tom Curran and Liam Plunkett will play full IPL season. Curran was dropped from the Test side for New Zealand series and might not make a comeback for Pakistan Tests. Plunkett, on the other hand, is not in contention for a spot in the Tests side, as of now.

Both Curran and Plunkett were called in as replacements for injured players.

The two-Test match series between Pakistan and England starts on May 24. The first Test of the series will be played from May 24 to 28 at Lord’s, London. The second Test match will be played at Headingley, Leeds from June 1 to 5.

Before this series, Pakistan will play a historic Test match against Ireland in Dublin from May 11 to 15.
