Former Indian pace bowler S Sreesanth had revealed that he has no interest in watching Indian Premier League (IPL) these days. The 35-year old Sreesanth, who was allegedly involved in the spot-fixing scandal in 2013, was banned from playing cricket in India by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

However, the Kerala speedster appealed to Supreme Court and proved himself not guilty. But the board remained firm on its stance and had not lifted the ban on the player.

Sreesanth was involved in controversies while playing for Rajasthan Royals in 2013 IPL and later got banned.

“I am (now) not a huge fan of IPL in particular but love to follow the Test matches. I love to watch club matches,” said Sreesanth, speaking to Deccan Chronicle.

But prior to the incident, he was a very active pace bowler both for India and his Jaipur-based franchise. He was also the highest Indian wicket-taker in the inaugural IPL season.

“I have not been following IPL matches and don’t wish to watch all matches and have lost interest and if time permits, will watch matches only involving my state players. Basically, I love to see my Kerala state cricketers doing well in the matches,” he asserted.

However, he revealed that the ban on him is not the reason for the lack of interest in professional T20 league like IPL

“The ban slapped on me by the Indian cricket board is not the reason for losing interest in the IPL. Yes, I am sad but now we have to move on. They (the BCCI officials) are busy in their own and I am busy in my own work,” Sreesanth said.

“I am being banned to practice at the international grounds controlled by the BCCI, but I practice at my own ground and I am happy with it,” he added.

Active Roles In Movies

S Sreesanth has had been playing roles in movies after his ban.

The former cricketer is ensuring that he remains fit. He had already played his role in few Kannada and Malayalam movies. He is also having a couple of projects in his hand this year.

“I have done Kerala, Malayalam and Kannada movies. The shooting for the next movie will commence next month,” Sreesanth revealed.

“With God blessings, I have a beautiful family and enjoy spending time with my wife and two children,” he signed off.
