Washington Sundar:
Washington Sundar was bought by the Royal Challengers for a whopping sum of INR 3.20 crore in the auction. He was quite brilliant for the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the previous year, especially with the new ball.
Under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sundar flourished and delivered the job.
However, it wasn’t the same this time around under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. He was impressive in patches. However, the big performance wasn’t quite there.
Playing seven matches in the tournament, Sundar bagged only four wickets at an expensive economy rate of 9.60. He was taken for runs in the powerplay and was unable to weave his magic.
Despite the Chinnaswamy surface assisting the spinners this time around, Sundar was unable to leave an impact. Hence he is likely to be released by Bangalore.
