IPL 2018: Gautam Gambhir Joins Warner in the Tally of Most Number of Fifties

One of the legends of the Indian Premier League, Gautam Gambhir added yet another feather to his cap by joining aggressive David Warner in the tally of the most number of half-centuries in the history of the league.

Gambhir scored an impressive 55 which came of just 42 deliveries. He scored at the strike rate of 130.

The newly-appointed Delhi Daredevils’ captain Gambhir struck five boundaries and a six in his knock.

Delhi Daredevils were able to post a decent target of 166 for the loss of seven wickets, thanks to the efforts from Gambhir.

However, KL Rahul lighting half-century put the visitors on to the backfoot instantly while taking the field.

With this innings, the aggressive left-handed batsman Gambhir now has an incredible tally of 36 half-centuries. He now stands as the joint-highest in IPL along Sunrisers Hyderabad’s David Warner.

In the all-time records for the leading run-getter in the tournament, Gambhir is placed fourth in the leaderboard with 4,187 runs under his belt.

Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma, who is the third highest run-getter in IPL. He has a second-most number of half-centuries in IPL with 32 50+ scores to his name.

Next in line is Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina who has 31 half century scores to his name apart from being the leading run scorer in the league.

A list without Virat Kohli always remains incomplete. Kohli, with his tally of 30 half centuries in the IPL is placed fifth in the leaderboard.
