Ishan Kishan’s knock was the changing point: Rohit Sharma
Speaking of the match, the skipper of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma quoted that it was the young Ishan Kishan who changed the course of the game with his fearless batting approach. The skipper was impressed with the young man’s show tonight and added that Ishan Kishan smacked it when the wicket wasn’t that easy.

”As a team, we tend to pick up during the month of May. Hope we do it sooner. Never easy to be on the line all the time and be desperate for wins towards the second half. Would like to start the tournament on a high. But in the past three years, we’ve been at the bottom of the table,” Rohit Sharma quoted while speaking to Harsha Bhogle in post-match presentation.
”I’m glad we came together and performed as a team today. Without a doubt, the way Ishan Kishan batted fearlessly, that was the changing point. I was assessing the pitch at that point, the ball was sticking in the pitch, it wasn’t easy, but he changed the game,” he added to his lines.

We prepared to post a total or chase down: Rohit Sharma
The winning skipper furtherly hailed the effort of Ben Cutting in the end which really helped the momentum to be on Mumbai side. He also added that the team prepared to either chase down the target or defend any total on the board. He concluded it saying that they need to play good cricket irrespective of toss.

”We were 65 after first ten overs, but scoring 145 in last ten overs is a magnificent effort by all the batters. Ben Cutting as well, he hasn’t been getting many opportunities as well, it’s not easy to come out and play shots like that. We as a team are prepared to post a total or chase down what is put in front of us. Can’t do much with the toss. Have to come out here and play good cricket. Last few games, the team has come together and taken responsibility,” he concluded.
However, the win ensured Mumbai Indians to stay alive in the tourney while the life became hard for Kolkata Knight Riders. Apart from the loss, the Net-Run-Rate took a massive beating for the home side which is a huge boost for Mumbai Indians.
