Indian cricket team left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat has had an eventful last year (2017). He led Rising Pune Supergiant’s bowling attack to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the tenth edition.

Moreover, Unadkat claimed a hat-trick against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which hogged him a limelight. Subsequently, he made it into the Indian limited-overs team.

Meanwhile, Unadakt made his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, in 2011.

However, he failed to cement his spot in the first XI. Nevertheless, during his stint with the franchise, he rubbed shoulders with Wasim Akram.

Veteran left-arm paceman Akram was the bowling coach of KKR at that time and quite expectantly, the pacer sounded happy for his interaction with the Pakistani legend.

Talking about his experience, Unadkat admitted it was great to mentored by such a legend. However, this didn’t last for long as he shifted his base.

I have had some great time with KKR and to be mentored by a legend like Wasim Akram is exceptional. However, the format of the IPL is such that you cannot hold on to one team as the auctions play an important role,” Unadkat said.

The 26-year-old Unadkat is looking forward to learning from Shane Warne. Warne will work as the advisor of the Rajasthan Royals side.

We learn from such big names and this time around I’m waiting to learn from the legend Shane Warne,” Unadkat added to T2Online.

Resurrected Royals roped in Unadkat for a whopping sum of INR 11.50 crore at the auctions in Bengaluru. He became the second costliest player after Ben Stokes in the two-day mega-auction. Furthermore, he is the costliest bowlers in the history of IPL.

Unadkat admitted that they will miss Steve Smith, who will miss this year’s IPL. BCCI banned Smith and David Warner in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal.

Surely, we will miss Smith in the dressing room. But we have a great leader in Ajinkya. He’s capable and there’s a lot to learn from him. Royals are ready to perform under his guidance. I have played lots of cricket with Ajinkya. Even in the last season for Pune, I have shared the dressing room with him. We have a really good understanding” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will start their campaign on April 9 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
