He is suffering from a grade-two hamstring injury, which he suffered during the Chennai Super Kings’s opening contest against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.

It is to be noted that Jadhav was at National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a long time before IPL.

In fact, during the domestic season as well, he spent major time in Bengaluru. He was also ruled out of the home One-day International series against Sri Lanka but made his comeback for South Africa ODIs.

There were questions whether Jadhav would be fit for IPL and now, the reports regarding fitness concerns have turned out to be true.

The right-handed batter Jadhav is all set to miss IPL. Jadhav was struggling during the IPL opener. He also retired hurt during the game but made a comeback to the crease after Dwayne Bravo got out.

The MS Dhoni-led side needed seven of the final over to win the game.

A struggling Jadhav could not score any run on the first three deliveries.

However, it was on the fourth and fifth delivery that he hit six and a four, respectively, to win it for his side.

After the game, Jadhav himself confirmed that he might not play for a couple of weeks.

In addition, it has turned out to be a lengthy period for him.

CSK will need a replacement for him soon as already, they are one player short.

Mitchell Santner was ruled out of IPL due to a knee injury. CSK decided not to name any replacement for Santner.

Chennai Super Kings will be facing Kolkata Knight Riders in their next contest on April 10 in a home game.
