The 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is already in its third day and he was have seen some fantastic matches so far. It was the Chennai Super Kings who registered a remarkable victory in the opening match against the Mumbai Indians.
They were behind the run chase for the majority but in the end, it was an audacious innings from the blade of Dwayne Bravo which sealed the deal for the two-time champions.
On the second day, it was a comprehensive performance by the Kings XI Punjab which saw them defeating the Delhi Daredevils by four wickets.
KL Rahul smashed the fastest fifty in IPL history when he recorded 51 before falling without adding any run following his fifty. It came in a mere 14 deliveries beating the joint-record held by Yusuf Pathan and Sunil Narine.
In the afternoon match, it was the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore quite comprehensively in the end by four wickets.
The victory was largely built around a sensational 17-ball 50 by Sunil Narine. He set up the chase brilliantly and played some exceptional shots to get the KKR going.
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has given his opinion regarding the current IPL and who he supports as a team. He hopes that Delhi Daredevils will win the tournament given the fact they haven’t won the tournament ever.
As a matter of fact, they have never ever qualified for the final. Pietersen also recalled his memories of his stint with the Delhi Daredevils.
Taking to his twitter handle Kevin Pietersen wrote,
“The @DelhiDaredevils are my team of choice for the @IPL. I’m not saying they’re going to win the IPL, but I’d love them to. Why? Cos I love the owner and Kiran deserves a trophy & cos I also had my best time at that franchise!”
