IPL 2018: Kevin Pietersen is Impressed with the Outcome of T20 League

Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen is in awe of the competitiveness of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after third last-over thriller in the opening week of the league.

Meanwhile, this is the third time the game has gone to the wire in the first week of edition 11 of the Twenty20 league.

Previously, Chennai Super Kings won two of their matches and now it was the turn of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

The Sunrisers banked on Deepak Hooda (32*), to pull the tide in their favour. However, it was the home team who dominated the game until the 18th over, when Yusuf Pathan departed.

Hyderabad lost four back-to-back as Mumbai took the control of the game. It was Hooda’s calm and composure that helped SRH make two out of two.

Previously, Indians managed to post a moderate 147 runs after a brilliant bowling effort from Hyderabad. Some lusty blows from Kieron Pollard ensured that they get closer to 150.

Moreover, Hyderabad got off to flier courtesy Shikhar Dhawan. His good form will benefit the team in this long tournament.

Mumbai’s young spinner Mayank Markande impressed one and all with his line and length. He returned with four for 24 in his quota of four overs.

What A Game! How good is the @IPL?” Pietersen tweeted.
