Kolkata Knight Riders are still waiting for any injury update of Chris Lynn.
The franchise purchased the aggressive opener for a huge amount of Rs 9.60 Crore. As per the reports, there is still update on his fitness.
A few days back, a video surfaced where he was batting against fast bowlers in nets but still looked in recovery mode.
He is yet to land in KKR’s practice camp, and he might miss a couple of games at the start to be fully fit.
Lynn, who has a long injury list, was in full form but injured his shoulder during the final of Trans-Tasman Trophy.
He landed awkwardly in the final contest and was ruled out for a long period. Scans confirmed he had dislocated his shoulder, but he got relief when it got revealed he would not require any surgery to cure it.
Lynn went to a rehabilitation camp for a month and returned to a net session, a few days back.
It looks confirmed that he will have a late arrival in the team’s camp and will few games at the start.
Meanwhile, KKR suffered a big blow, as Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of IPL due to tibial bone stress. The franchise purchased him for Rs 9.40 Crore. Starc’s absence means that KKR does not have a leader in pace attack, now.
They do have Mitchell Johnson, but he retired from the game way back in 2015 from international cricket.
He will not lead a weakened pace attack. KKR may not be able to find an apt replacement for Starc who can fill in his shoes.
The two-time IPL champion team kick off its IPL campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a home game on April 8.
Dinesh Karthik will lead the team in the season with Robin Uthappa as his deputy.
