IPL 2018: KKR To Name Mitchell Starc’s Replacement Today

Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to name the replacement of Mitchell Starc, today (April 2).
The Australian pacer was ruled out of IPL last week after suffering tibial bone stress. The franchise purchased him for a huge amount of Rs 9.40 Crore.
However, just a week before the start of IPL, Starc got ruled He also missed the fourth and the final Test against South Africa due to the same reason.
As per the reports, Tom Curran, the England pacer, is in line to replace Starc in KKR’s squad. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
Curran is yet to play IPL. He has played two Test and eight ODIs for England till now. The 23-year-old has played 51 T20s in which he has scalped 53 wickets. He is already part of Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL, a team co-owned by same owners.
Meanwhile, KKR CEO, Venky Mysore, has said they are hoping for Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell to play the first IPL game for them. Lynn and Russell are still in process to be fit for IPL.
In fact, Lynn is yet to join team’s camp, and there is no official confirmation on his fitness. Russell, though, has joined the team’s camp and might play the first game. He suffered a hamstring injury during PSL.
Coming to Narine, he was reported for suspect action during PSL and will be under the scanner during IPL. As of now, he is cleared to bowl in the tournament.
Kolkata Knight Riders kick off their IPL campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a home contest on April 8.
