IPL 2018: Kohli joins RCB’s training session after a month-long break

The skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Virat Kohli has joined the training session ahead of the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kohli, who didn’t play the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka is back after taking a month-long break. But his side still managed to win the tournament under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

After playing 3 Tests, 6 ODIs and 2 T20Is [didn’t play the 3rd T20I] against South Africa, BCCI decided to rest Kohli and some other senior players thinking of the heavy workload. And, the Indian captain who had a tour of his life deserved the break more than anyone.

The run machine scored a total of 871 runs in the tour of South Africa which includes 4 hundreds and 2 fifties. The Indian captain also led his team to their first ever ODI series win in South Africa.

After a successful beginning of the new year with the Indian team so far, Kohli is now all set to lead RCB in the upcoming IPL. Though, Kohli is breaking records after records and creating history with the Indian team, he still has a lot to achieve with his IPL side.

Despite of spending millions and a team with full of stars, RCB is yet to win an IPL trophy after playing ten editions of the tournament. They were runners up three times and the last one was in 2016 when they lost the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

With a new mission on his hand, Kohli joined his team-mates in an intense training session and after a month-long break, the RCB captain is giving extra effort to get his rhythm back.

The IPL 2018 is set to begin on April 7 while RCB will travel to Kolkata to take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 8.
