ToggleInjury concerns for Kolkata Knight Riders continued to cause headaches for the franchise as Mitchell Starc is scheduled to miss out of the 11th edition due to injury.
KKR’s campaign has been plagued with injury even before the start of the tournament. Their retained players Andre Russell and Sunil Narine remained doubtful for the season with a hamstring injury and suspect bowling action respectively.
Chris Lynn’s problematic shoulder dislocated for the fourth time during the recent Trans-Tasman T20I tri-series, while fielding.
The KKR think tank could finally breathe a sigh of relief with Russell and Lynn deemed available for the tournament.
However, the start of the 4th Test between Australia and South Africa saw Mitchell Starc being replaced by Chadd Sayers in the lineup.
It was later revealed by cricket.co.au that the speedster sustained a tibial bone stress in his right leg.
“Mitchell Starc has a ‘tibial bone stress in his right leg’. He will return home for further assessment after the Test and will miss the IPL,” tweeted CA’s twitter handle.
