ToggleSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) continued their winning run this season with an impressive five-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The bowling once again set up the victory for the Hyderabad-based outfit.
Bowling first, the tourists restricted Knight Riders to a modest 138 for eight in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, they rode on their skipper Kane Williamson‘s fifty to chase down the total with an over to spare.
With the game now all done and dusted, here you could look at some interesting numbers from it.
1. This was Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s first win at the Eden Gardens in the IPL. They faced the home side on five occasions in previous five seasons and ended up on the losing side on all occasions.
2. Rashid Khan ended the game with figures of 31 for zero. This is only the second time in the last 25 Twenty20 innings where the Afghan star conceded more than seven runs an over without taking a wicket.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now taken 17 wickets in his last five innings at the Eden Gardens. He bagged four-wicket hauls in the Test match against Sri Lanka, three wickets in the ODI against Australia and three wickets in the IPL game against the hosts last season.
4. Yusuf Pathan has now remained unbeaten in successful chases on 18 occasions.
These are the second most times not out for any player in successful IPL chases.
Ravindra Jadeja leads the list, having remained unbeaten 19 times during successful chases in the IPL.
5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took his wickets-tally against Knight Riders to 25. This is the most for any player.
6. The game was Shikhar Dhawan’s 200th game in the T20 format. He scored 5,615 runs in the 199 innings he registered 42 fifties.
7. Shakib Al Hasan, who is plying his trade with Sunrisers Hyderabad completed 4,000 runs in Twenty20s during the game.
He has now scored 4,019 runs in the shortest format of the game.
