IPL 2018: Match 4 – Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals: Toss Report
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to field first in their season-opener against Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad.
Here is what the captains said:
“We’ll bowl. Fairly new side from previous years but hopefully we start well with the ball in hand. (Our four overseas players are) Rashid Khan, Billy Stanlake, myself [chuckles] and Shakib”
We were looking to bowl as well. Happy to bat first, though. We have no control over the toss, so happy to bat first. We had some good prep back home. The guys are very excited about this game, so looking forward to it. Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, D’Arcy Short, Ben Laughlin..
Sunrisers Hyderabad will have their task cut out against Rajasthan Royals. The Hyderabad-based franchise will be without their talismanic star David Warner who has been banned in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal. Warner was not only the skipper but led the team from the front and there is no denying that the franchise will miss him. In his absence, Kane Williamson will lead the side which is well capable of going far in the tournament.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals will be looking to make a winning return to the league after a two year absence. With the likes of Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane in the side, the Royals have one of the strongest squads in the league.
Here is the playing eleven of both teams:
Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson(c), Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Billy Stanlake, Siddarth Kaul
Ajinkya Rahane(c), D Arcy Short, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Jos Buttler(w), Krishnappa Gowtham, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Laughlin
