ToggleChennai Super Kings (CSK) bagged two crucial points, as they dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beating them by eight wickets at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
Batting first, Hyderabad posted 179 runs on the board banking on Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson’s brilliant hundred. Dhawan brought his second hundred while Williamson notched his fifth consecutive fifty to post a huge total.
Deepak Chahar was outstanding with the new ball returning with one for 16 in his full quota. In reply, however, Chennai got off to a flier courtesy Shane Watson and Amabati Rayudu. The pair added 134 runs for the first wicket before Watson (57) departed.
Meanwhile, Rayudu continued with his purple patch, as he brought his hundred to see his team through. His knock included seven boundaries and sixes eaches to bring his century.
MS Dhoni played a secondary role as he remained unbeaten on 20 runs overhaul the target. As a result, CSK are now on 16 points from 12 games and are on the verge of qualifications.

Shane Watson: (6.5/10)
The veteran all-rounder from Australia has contributed to the team’s success consistently. He has chipped in with both bat and ball and will look to continue his form.
Watson returned with none from 15 in two overs before registering a brilliant half-century to provide his team with a good start.
Ambati Rayudu: (10/10)
Ambati Rayudu‘s good form with the bat at the top order continues. He backed his return to Indian team with a brilliant hundred, as he earned his side a crucial two points. Moreover, he has been consistent so far and will look to finish the tournament on a high.
Suresh Raina: (2/10)
Suresh Raina once again struggled to get going, as he got out cheaply for two runs. However, he will be desperate to put some runs under his belt and get his confidence back.
Sam Billings: (0/10)
Sam Billings had no role in today’s game. However, he will look to get some game time and score some runs for his franchise.
MS Dhoni (c & wk): (6/10)
MS Dhoni had a very minimal role to play with the bat, as the top-order did the job for his team. He remained unbeaten on 20 runs from 14 balls to see his team through.
Meanwhile, Dhoni is in the red-hot form which is a huge boost for the Super Kings.
Dwayne Bravo: (5/10)
The all-rounder from Windies was a bit wayward in today’s game. He went for 39 runs in his four overs claiming the only wicket.
However, Bravo, overs the years have done the job for CSK and will look to continue that.
Ravindra Jadeja: (4/10)
Hyderabad’s batsmen went hard at Ravindra Jadeja, as he struggled with his line and length. The orthodox left-arm spinner also gave away 24 runs in two overs. Dhoni will want his premier form before the next game.
David Willey: (4/10)
The all-rounder from England was expensive with the ball today. He gave away 24 runs, as Dhoni didn’t bowl him his full quota. However, he will look to give the best shot to retain his place in the playing XI.
Harbhajan Singh: (3.5/10)
The veteran off-spinner had a very poor outing against the Sunrisers. He gave away 26 runs in his two oversa, as Dhawan and Williamson toiled with him. The dugout will want him to return to form in the next outing.
Deepak Chahar: (8/10)
Deepak Chahar had an outstanding return from injury. He kept things tight with the new ball, as he returned with one for 16 in his four overs. His form will be crucial for the Super Kings, as they eye a playoff spot.
Shardul Thakur: (6.5/10)
Shardul Thakur bowled well returning with two for 32 in his four overs. The seamer has picked wickets consistently and will look to continue doing so.
CSK will want Shardul to pick wickets with the new ball in the business end of the league.
