Rajasthan Royals opened their account this season with a 10-run win over Delhi Daredevils in a rain-affected game.

Sent in to bat first, the Royals were 153 for 5 in 17.5 overs when rain arrived. With rain causing a lengthy delay, the Royals’ innings ended at that very point. 1. Daredevils’ Colin Munro became only the fourth player to be run out on the very first ball of an IPL inning. Karan Goel in 2009, Adam Gilchrist in 2011 and Murali Vijay in 2012 are the other three players to be dismissed in a similar manner in the league.

2. Rajasthan Royals’ win ended the 5-match streak of toss winning teams electing to bowl first and winning in this season.

3. The win extended Royals win in Jaipur to 13 in the Twenty20 format and 9 in IPL. consecutive IPL win in Jaipur. They had won eight IPL matches and four Champions League T20 games at this venue in 2013.

4. It was the first instance of Duckworth-Lewis method coming into play at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

5. Gautam Gambhir became the 8th player to feature in 150 matches in the IPL.

6. With 677 runs, Ajinkya Rahane now holds the record of scoring most runs in the IPL against Delhi Daredevils. He surpassed Rohit Sharma’s tally of 670 runs.

7. Sanju Samson became the fifth player to reach the 1000-run mark for Rajasthan Royals.
