Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) home matches for the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) eleventh edition is highly likely going to be moved out of Chennai, in the wake of the Cauvery Water Dispute.
Meanwhile, the Super Kings returned to their den after two years with a thumping win over Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling fixture. The passionate fans turned out in huge numbers to support Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his men.
Batting first, KKR banked on Andre Russell’s blazing knock to post such a total. Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa also provided good support.
The Windies all-rounder Russell struck an unbeaten 88 off just 36 balls – to register the 200-run mark in IPL 2018. Moreover, he went all guns blazing and registered 11 sixes and one four.

At the halfway mark, it looked like a daunting task for the host with a required run-rate of over 10 runs. But some outstanding hitting from Sam Billings ensured that they continue the winning run.
Billings struck a 23-ball 56 including five sixes and two boundaries as CSK inched closer.
Meanwhile, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayadu provided a brilliant start and kept CSK in the hunt. Watson struck a 19-ball 42 while Rayadu scored 39 runs.
Moreover, the Knight Riders failed to defend 17 runs off the last over as Ravindra did it in style for the home team.
Meanwhile, during the match, few protesters hurled shoes towards the stadium to vent their anger. However, the police immediately put them out of the stadium.
Now, according to the news in ANI, the matches are likely to rescheduled from Chennai to a new venue.
Moreover, this will come as a shock for the yellow brigade and in particular for their fans.
They waited for their stars for two years and filled the stadium with huge numbers during the practice sessions as well.
Although, the final details regarding the new venue is yet to be revealed.
