A scintillating victory for Chennai Super Kings kickstarted the 11th edition of the IPL.
Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians did everything they could, but the Lions roared to victory. Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey was all praise for the Chennai outfit.
Hussey, who represented CSK in the IPL, lauded Dwayne Bravo’s match-winning inning. Bravo scored a brisk 30-ball 68 to help the yellow brigade get off the mark in the points table.

Hussey took to Twitter and congratulated his ex-colleagues.
“Wow what a start to the Ipl!!! Amazing win, Bravo simply amazing!!!! Welcome back Csk!!”.
At one stage in the game, Chennai needed 47 runs from 18 balls. With just two wickets in hand, it looked highly daunting. But Bravo whacked the ball out of the park at will.
Kedar Jadhav, who hit the winning runs, said he might not play in the next couple of weeks.
Jadhav retired hurt at one stage but came back to score the winning runs. Jadhav said he intended to face the last over and not rotate strike. With three dot balls, the game was getting closer, but a couple of boundaries sealed the win.
Jadhav hits the winning runs
“I am happy psychologically, but physically I am hurt. I might not play for the next couple of weeks. Bravo gave us the opportunity for us to give a shot at it. I could not run, and I told Immy [Imran Tahir] I will take all six balls. With six balls and seven runs, they were bowling same lengths, and I just needed a big hit. I had to see how my body was reacting.” Jadhav said post the game.
Jadhav remained unbeaten on 24 off 22 balls as he chased 166 with a ball to spare. The internet went bonkers and why not. Mumbai will take a lot of positives from the encounter and find a solution to the death-over hurdle. For CSK, the start couldn’t have been any better.
