Chennai Super Kings captain, MS Dhoni, joined the team’s practice camp in Pune today (April 19).

He gave practice session a miss in team’s first session on arrival to Pune, and there were doubts over his participation in the game.

Though he attended the practice session, there are still doubts whether he would participate in the contest or not?

If Dhoni is ruled out, CSK will meet a big blow, as they will also need a new captain due to unavailability of Suresh Raina. Dhoni is in doubt for the contest due to the back issue. He suffered back pain during the away game against Kings XI Punjab. Though he batted during the contest with pain and took pain-killers while batting.

Dhoni batted during the practice session on the eve of the game, but his participation is not yet confirmed. Meanwhile, if Dhoni does not play, then Raina could be hastened into playing XI.

He missed the previous game due to the calf injury and is scheduled to next tie as well.

However, he seems to be fit and might play the game against Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings will take on Rajasthan Royals in their next game on April 19 at their second home, Pune. CSK’ s home game had to be shifted out of Chennai due to protest in the state.

The two-time IPL champion team is expected to make some changes in the squad. Dhruv Shorey might walk in to replace Dhoni while a change in bowling department is also expected.
