IPL 2018: Nitish Rana Receives a Bat from Virat Kohli as a Token of Appreciation
For those who missed out on all the action of Day 2 of IPL, Delhi’s Nitish Rana, who came into reckoning last year with Mumbai Indians, changed the course of the match with his bowling against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Just when the two modern greats of the game were about to accelerate, Rana dismissed the two batsmen (Ab de Villiers and Virat Kohli) on successive deliveries and turned the game towards his team’s way.
Not many gave Rana a chance when Dinesh Karthik gave the ball to a part-timer. As it turned out, it turned out to be a masterstroke from DK who seemed to be touching everything into gold.
AB de Villiers, who hit the previous ball for a maximum, got greedy and tried a heave the ball which bounced extra.
On the subsequent delivery, he scalped the prized wicket of RCB skipper Virat Kohli, off to a bamboozling yorker which the batsman had no answer to.
What followed next was a grand celebration by Rana after dismissing fellow Delhiite. In the presentation ceremony, Kohli mentioned the two wickets were a game-changing moment.
“When you are appreciated by one of the greats of the game, you know you are doing something right. Thanks for this bat, @virat.kohli Bhaiya this was just the encouragement I needed. #blessed ??,” captioned Nitish Rana’s Instagram post.
The picture uploaded by Rana saw him posing with the bat. RCB lost the match by four wickets, but Kohli made sure he rewarded Rana for his brilliance.
