IPL 2018: Rajasthan Royals set to face formidable KXIP in a must-win clash.
Yet another must-win clash makes it way on a beautiful Sunday evening. This time it is Rajasthan Royals who needs to manage a win at any cost while Kings XI Punjab is in search of winning ways especially, after losing 2 games on a trot.
Rajasthan Royals: Big guns need to blaze
Rajasthan Royals got a squad that can give a hard day for any opposition but unfortunately, they are finding themselves on the wrong side of the things as the big fishes in the camp haven’t displayed their real calibre yet. Jos Buttler got back to his own in the previous encounter against Delhi while Ben Stokes needs to fire at any cost against KXIP.
He has been the failure of the camp so far and needs to fire all his cylinders to make a grand comeback and it’s a high time as well. Coming to the bowling department, it needed a serious repairing by the management to restrict the KXIP franchise that has the likes of Chris Gayle, KL Rahul and other free-flowing batsmen.
Gowtham needs to be consistent while Jaydev Unadkat should deliver a man of the match performance. All in all, the last match batting heroics might work as a motivation for the team to stay alive in the tourney by outsmarting the Ashwin-led side.
Kings XI Punjab: In search of winning momentum
Kings XI Punjab made their mark in the Indian Premier League by smashing the top-class teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings in initial stages of the tourney. With Gayle being in a nice flow, Punjab would be hoping other batsmen to join the fun.
KXIP management tried different things in their batting order against Mumbai Indians by giving a promotion to Yuvraj Singh and Axar Patel in the batting department. Both the moves haven’t worked at all as both the southpaws failed to live up to the expectations.
Coming to other departments, Kings XI would persist with their bowling attack as they showed enough application in their previous encounter at Indore. However, Ben Dwarshuis would be hoping for his turn in place of Andrew Tye. Meanwhile, Mujeeb is continuously impressing everyone.
Possible Playing XI:
RR: Ajinkya Rahane (c), D’Arcy Short, Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler (wk), Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, K Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni.
KXIP: KL Rahul (wk), Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Karun Nair, Manoj Tiwary, Marcus Stoinis, R Ashwin (c), Axar Patel, Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot, Mujeeb ur Rahman.
