ToggleSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, who produced an outstanding bowling effort took no time to appreciate his counterpart from Mumbai Indians (MI), Mayank Markande.
Meanwhile, Rashid’s magical spell of one for 13 in four overs overshadowed Markande’s four-wicket haul.
However, the young leg-spinner from Punjab has produced two back-to-back outstanding spells. As a result, he is currently the Purple Cap holder with seven wickets from two games.
Markande cherished a dream debut against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk where he picked three wickets. Moreover, he went on to back it up with four wickets against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Hyderabad defeated the defending champions in the last ball thriller, however, Markande impressed one and all.
As much as that it amazed Rashid Khan as he showered heaps of praise on the spinner.
“He is wonderful to watch. I saw him in the first game of this IPL. He was amazing, trying to defend such a low total which is always difficult. He did really well,” Rashid said to Sportstarlive.
Meanwhile, Khan showed a new avatar when he matched eye to eye with the Caribbean giant Kieron Pollard last night. However, this has surprised many even his fans.
“Well, I have done this in the Big Bash too against him. Good fun out there in the center. It is just to engage myself in a battle with a difference and put in that extra effort,” Rashid said.
“These things make the game more entertaining. The plan was to go against Pollard aggressively and see him make mistakes. His wicket was very crucial then for he can have taken the game away from us with his batting,” he added.
However, Hyderabad continued their winning run as they beat Mumbai in the last over. They banked on Deepak Hooda’s brilliance to seal the game.
However, Rashid Khan feels they should have completed the game earlier.
“We should have finished the game as we did against Rajasthan. But these things happen sometimes when you lose quick wickets. Thank God, we won the match and hopefully learn from the mistakes and not repeat them in the coming games,” he concluded.
