Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will hope to continue their winning runs when they take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 15 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Meanwhile, Bangalore defeated Kings XI Punjab, in a last-over thriller with Washington Sundar hitting the winning runs
However, there were few notable performances from the Bangalore side. Umesh Yadav bowled outstandingly as he bagged three wickets in an over to put a brake on Punjab’s free run flow.
Moreover, AB de Villiers (57) scored a responsible fifty to keep RCB in the hunt. Quinton de Kock (45) also provide a quickfire start despite losing an early wicket.
Virat Kohli is expected to make one change going into next game.
Here is the predicted XI of the Royal Challengers:
Brendon McCullum:
The veteran batsman from New Zealand had an off time in the last game. However, he is capable of creating exploits at the top.
Brendon McCullum has a lot of experience on his back and could change the course of the game single-handedly.
Quinton de Kock (wk):
The South Africa wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock gave a blistering start to Bangalore. Southpaw de Kock hammered 45 off 34 deliveries including seven boundaries and one six in the last game.
RCB will want some more hitting if they have to continue the winning run.
Virat Kohli (c):
The skipper holds the key to Bangalore’s success going into the season. However, Virat Kohli is yet to find the right form in this tournament.
Moreover, he will be looking to convert the starts into big if Bangalore wants to put the massive total on the board.
AB de Villiers:
AB de Villiers has started to contribute to team’s success right from the start of the season.
In the last match, he played a responsible knock of 57 runs to take RCB close to the target.
Moreover, he will look to continue doing so.
Manan Vohra:
The right-handed batsman Manan Vohra will look to make an early mark and cement his spot in the first XI.
Manan is capable of clearing the field and will equally boost Bangalore’s middle-order.
Mandeep Singh:
Mandeep Singh has started the season on a high with good scores. Over the years he has grown in stature and knows how to pace up the innings.
The dynamic batsman can hurt the opposition if he gets into the groove.
Chris Woakes:
The all-rounder from England Chris Woakes has had an average time so far in the Twenty20 league. Although he is among the wickets which is a positive sign for the Bangalore-based outfit.
However, Woakes will look to improve his performance in the next outing.
Washington Sundar:
After a poor opening game, Washington Sundar rectified his mistakes to contribute to the winning cause.
He along with Chahal will be pivotal in the middle-overs for RCB.
Kulwant Khejroliya:
The left-arm pacer Kulwant Khejroliya had a good game the other night against Punjab. He will look to continue his effort and make a strong case for himself.
Khejroliya returned with two for 22 in his four overs.
Umesh Yadav:
Umesh Yadav stormed back to form with three wickets in a single over as it halted Punjab’s run flow.
Kohli will back Umesh to continue his wicket-taking spree which will solve a major problem for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Yuzvendra Chahal:
Yuzvendra Chahal, over the years, has become one of RCB’s match-winner. He has won many matches for the Bangalore side single-handedly.
However, he has not found the right form yet and will hit the purple patch soon.
