The 7th match of the Indian Premier League witnessed some individual brilliance. But at the end, it was a quick-fire 45 from Shikhar Dhawan, that saved the day for the Sunrisers.
The southpaw continued from where he had left in the last game.

Dhawan dealt mostly in boundaries. He hit a total of eight fours. Their chase was on and off, as youngster Mayank Markande scalped his best figures – 4/23, in only his second game.
Markande dismissed Dhawan after trapping Wriddhiman Saha’s pads. And he then got the big fish Manish Pandey, followed by Shakib-Al-Hasan.

Jasprit Bumrah’s two wickets in an over and Mustafizur Rahman’s penultimate over, where he conceded a run and bagged two sticks, changed the game drastically.
It went down the wire, and it took the eleventh man, Billy Stanlake to hit a boundary to seal the victory.
Earlier in the day, Evin Lewis set the stage on fire by scoring a 17-ball 29. His teammate Surya Kumar Yadav hit a gritty 28 before Kieron Pollard’s 28 off 23 balls got the Mumbai Indians to 147/8.

Shikhar Dhawan wears the Orange cap
Dhawan also picked up the Orange cap, courtesy his match-winning knock. The left-hand batter first represented Delhi Daredevils and then moved to Mumbai Indians, where he was seen opening the batting with maestro Sachin Tendulkar.
He is the key for the Sunrisers, as they are missing their other opener and former skipper David Warner.
“Been playing IPL for ten years but getting the cap for the first time?” Dhawan said.
It also means the Orange brigade has now earned two wins in two games while for Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai, the road ahead looks curvey.
For the second time in a row, Markande’s impressive show went in vain, but the newbie is a serious contender for the young player of the year award.
