The mystery off-spinner from Windies, Sunil Narine will have to give a test in Chennai to be eligible for bowling for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, Narine was reported for his suspected bowling actions during the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The wily customer Narine is likely to visit the bio-mechanical facility at the Sri Ramachandra Sports Medicine Centre to get his bowling action cleared.
Moreover, as per IPL norms, a bowler has to come to a BCCI-accredited clinic – to get his action cleared if reported earlier.
With KKR opening their IPL campaign on Sunday, Narine will be running against time if his side needs him to do the bowling.
“We have to first look at the videos of his earlier faulty action, and then see his remodelled one now,” a source told The Hindu.
Post the test, BCCI Suspect Action Committee will assess the report before clearing him. Meanwhile, S. Venkatraghavan, Javagal Srinath, and A.V. Jayaprakash comprise the committee.
Meanwhile, Sunil Narine has been under the radar for a suspect action quite a few times now.
However, KKR already struck by Mitchell Struck, who has pulled himself out the IPL. He suffered an injury prior to the fourth Test against South Africa and will not feature in the tournament.
KKR announced England’s Tom Curran as the replacement of injured Starc. Curran has done well in the limited opportunities he has got for England
This edition of IPL will start later today (April 7) when Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede.
