Tye ended as the leading wicket-getter in the season.

Andrew Tye ended up as the Purple Cap holder with 24 wickets in the 14 matches he played in the season. The Australian fast bowler made use of his knuckleball variation to prey on the batsman.

In fact, Tye scalped four wickets on three occasions in the season which was maximum for any bowler. In fact, no other bowler managed more than one four-fer in the season.

Tye best bowling performance came against Mumbai Indians. The right-hander took four wickets and conceded 16 runs in his quota of four overs. Unfortunately, Tye’s heroics with the ball went in vain as Punjab lost the match by three runs against Mumbai Indians.
